Announcement:
- We will have a Chinese quiz this Friday (03/04). The quiz questions will be on YCT (Youth Chinese Test) Level 1 Vocabulary words (For Listening part) & our weekly lesson (For writing part).
- Because students have learned many vocabulary from the beginning of school year, in addition to teach new vocabulary, I am focusing on students' ability to reuse and review vocabulary we've learned. We are spending more time to use what they've learned to new circumstances or different situation (like new sentences other than sentences in text books) instead of copy teacher's and textbook's sentences. (The beginning language learners, they start with remember, memorize, and copy vocabulary, ideas, phenomenon, or a fact in somewhat the same form in which it was learned. However, now it is the time for our students to apply what he/she knows from a variety of areas to find solutions to problems. Both in math and Chinese, our students should be able to relate or apply their "old knowledge to new or real life situations which is from achievement* to proficiency**.)
