Announcement:
- We will have a state wide "Final Exam" for our DLI students on Friday (05/20/2016).
- The following two weeks (05/09-05/13 & 05/16-05/20) we will review all materials for this final exam. We will have two YCT listening and two Mandarin Matrix reading/writing MOCK TEST on Friday (05/13 & 05/20). The listening test questions will be on YCT (Youth Chinese Test) Level 1 vocabulary words. The reading/writing questions will be on Mandarin Matrix vocabulary words.
- If students can recognize Mandarin Matrix & YCT level 1 vocabulary words they will have no problems for "Final exam".
- 这星期的YCY test 10 是重复用 test 6. (I use YCT sample 6 for the test this week.)

- Teacher said: 前面两个外面有穿衣服,后面两个外面没有穿衣服。(The first two are wearing clothes and the last two are not.)
- Q: 我们的毛毛虫有没有穿衣服?(Do our caterpillars wear clothes?)

- 结茧:吐丝把自己包起来。
化蛹:表皮变硬,里面整个溶解掉再变成另一种型态。
结茧和化蛹差在多了一层保护,像蝴蝶的幼虫只会吐丝把自己绑在树枝上就化蛹了。而蚕宝宝则比较勤劳,会吐很多丝把自己包覆在里面,然后才化蛹。 - It is important to differentiate between pupa, chrysalis and cocoon. The pupa is the stage between the larva and adult stages. The chrysalis is a butterfly pupa. A cocoon is a silk case that moths, and sometimes other insects, spin around the pupa.
