How you can help your student (students):
1. Help your child/children remember his/her lunch number(s).
2. Ask your kid(s) to look at the teacher when the teacher is talking. (This is extremely important. Students, as beginning learners, will need to look at teacher's body language to learn Chinese.)

- I used a lot of body language and modeling during class. Students will understand what they need to do & to say when they are looking at my body language.
- Numbers are very important for teachers to teach Math. I can only speak in Chinese to teach students Math, so it is critical for students to get familiar with numbers in Chinese. My goal before we start formal math teaching is to have students listen and say numbers in Chinese without thinking of English which will immensely improve learning outcomes.
